Book Review: Keeping Faith

This was my first book by Jodi Picoult and what a doozy. It is a book about Faith, and I am not talking about the main character here who happens to be named Faith. A child caught in a bitter custody battle begins to speak to a imaginary stranger, develops stigmata and is able to heal the sick. This starts a media frenzy that throws the child and her mother in a struggle between the medical and religious communities. Everybody is fighting over the child and nobody quite understands or even believes what's happening. Gripping and insightful, Picoult has turned out a controversial and fast paced read that will keep you up long after you finish the last page. As I said earlier, it is a book about faith, but it's also a testament to what a mother will do to protect her child. A great and suspenseful read.

Happy Reading!
